Scion Open 2009 - Power & Light District - Downtown KC, MO:

 

**RIDER DETAILS**


As you all most likely have already seen the weather is not in favor of a snowboard tourney, but the show must go on! We are going to have this event and we are just going to ask for all of your help and patience during the day Saturday.  Speaking of Saturday, below is our tentative schedule, we are going to our best to stay on this. Keep in mind it is going to be a Jam format, meaning there is no order that you have to drop in by.

9:30am - 11:30am - Rider check in at Shark bar.  All riders need to be checked in by 1130, no exceptions!  Bring valid ID, helmet and if under 18, a legal guardian.

11:45am - Mandatory riders meeting with me and the team that built the structure.  Please listen and not be joking around, we have important info that you need to hear!

12:00pm -  Heat 1 (bibs 2-26)

1:00pm - Heat 2 (bibs 27- 51)

2:00pm - Heat 3 (bibs 52- 76)

3:00pm - Heat 4 (bibs 78- 101)

4:00pm - Heat 5 (bibs 102-126)

5:00pm - Semi Final #1

5:45pm - Semi finals #2

6:30pm - Announce the "scion 16" The scion 16 will each get teamed up with one of the 16 pro riders as a team.  we then will set up a bracket format like NCAA and your team will face other teams into a championship.

6:45pm - 8:00 - Break and grooming

8:00pm - Pro rider warm ups

8:30pm - Scion sixteen first round

9:30pm - Elite eight

10:15pm - Final four

11:00 - Champions announced!

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.  Please take note, if you are under the age of 21 you need to be with a parent after 8pm.  If you have made it the comp and are under the age of 21 after 8pm, there will be a designated area for you to be.  After 8pm it is at the desecration of the Live! Block at Power and Light to ask you to leave weather you are with a parent or not.  We can only guarantee riders still in the competition that are under the age of 21 be allowed past 8pm.

The third and final stop to this year’s tournament is scheduled for Feb 7th in downtown Kansas City’s brand new Power and Light District! Come check it out when the Scion Open takes over the Live block for one day of the most exciting snowboard competition ever to happen in the Midwest! This venue will feature a rail jam style competition on a scaffolding system that is a story and a half tall, fifty feet wide, and one hundred feet long in the middle of downtown KC! DJ “AK “will be performing for the spectators as well as other live bands.  Local riders will get a chance to ride with some of the top professional riders in the world! This unique event will be open to the public and anyone can enter and give it a try.  Be sure to mark your calendar for Feb. 7th, this is sure to be an event people will be talking about for a long time!
